Wonderful timing and capture, Keith. How are your ringy's faring in the hot weather? Carol
Thanks Carol...There efforts at breeding got as far as eggs - one hatched but it rained a lot at that time and it died.....they laid again but no good either. The males only young so I'm blaming him....lol
At the moment they are in the moult so are looking a bit sorry for themselves...the really hot weathers gone (I hope) so it's not so bad now.
this is one hell of an interesting capture
Stunning capture, great timing,

Quality image, and it just goes to show what you can do with that lens

Yes Mike it seems to quite like this sort of shot...it helped that I was on a tripod....taking the Male when I spotted her on the other side of the pool....a quick dash and re-plant the tripod and got a few shots off.She came straight towards me just after but inside the min focus distance...thinking about getting a Ex tube....
p.s. Another Wow...just spotted the GEA...thank you Malc...my model will be happy as well.
This could have been good - but the blown highlights in the wings and on the reed in the water spoils this. You needed to under expose for this shot.

Thank you Brian...yes you are correct......see above post....I had the settings for the Male in the opposite side of pond and the water on the reed and crystal wings does need to be under exposed...but it was all over so fast.
Captured the moment though.
Missing it was my fear......
Awe too late for my award or this would have been a cert. great shot Keith
I sure would be happy to take something this good Keith........Sandy
