It is difficult to be anywhere at this time of year in Scotland, coastal or otherwise, where you are not serenaded by the song of the Oystercatcher.
They even join in with the dawn chorus. I remember once being told that each bird has a unique place in the chorus so that they don't sing over each other. Regrettably no one told the oystercatchers that. They chip in when they feel like it. Very amusing at 4.15 in the morning.
