Another Queensland shot - I left my bird book at home, so not sure what brand this fella is - ###checked book; appears to be a "Pacific Black Duck".

Beautiful bird and nicely captured. Checking from my book, this looks like a Pacific black duck. I'm a beginner bird watcher, hope I got it right. Smile

Bill, it can't be an Oz duck - It's not upside down!!! Grin

Beautiful colours and detail captured in this picture.

Great shot Bill. Cant be sure on ID. I thought at first with that vivid green wing flash and overall colouring that it might be a female Mallard but I cant reconcile those strong orange/yellow stripes on the head. Be interested what others think.

A beautifully marked duck Bill, she's a real beauty and you've captured some terrific detail in her plumage. I think she's a native species to Oz and definitely not a mallard
