I think was one of my first photo's I took with a Nd filter.I think the exposure time was around 8 minutes long. I think they is something magical about waiting a few minutes for the photo to appear on the back of the camera, Kind of reminders me of back in the darkroom waiting for your print to develop.

A super image, agree a slight crop from the top would improve it, but still good enough for an award,
Fred.

Hey Thank you for the award.
Thom
Tend to agree with a crop, say just leaving a little bit more than the top of the bridge in that way a third is devoted to the water which holds the viewer, the trees at the top and that sky arent needed imo, give it a shot and re post, would love to see it again.
Ive stood in that very spot but not for 8 minutes with the shutter open! Love the long shutter result, must try it, was it a 10 stop and did you end up witha colour cast?? Best regards Phil![]()

Hey phil
yes it was a 10 stop Nd filter, The colours of the photo you see on your screen is pretty much what came out of the camera,so yes they was a bit of a amber colour cast. I just make sure I set a custom white balance before adding the filter.
I do agree with everyone about adding a crop, but I never crop or convert to black and white any of my landscape images. I know it may sound a bit pretentious and stupid but if I choose to crop this image I will just have to reshoot it.
Thanks for your vote

Wonderful colours that have a 'walk right in' silky feel about them. Well worth the effort and the wait!
