Bit busy for the next few days so thought I'd wish you all a Merry Christmas while I get the chance. Thanks to all for your helpful comments throughout the year, it's brought on my photography no end looking back at my images from when I started posting in January. Hmm, this feels like I should be writing it before Hogmanay, not now!

Here's one from the remnants of the ancient Caledonian pine forest in Glen More. Used to cover much of the Highlands but just a few surviving fragments now. As I ascended through the mist the sun was shining through the trees above where the mist topped out.

You were there at exactly an excellent time to capture these rays emanating from behind the trees on the right, Alan.
So atmospheric with that light and fine mist hanging around.
These remnants of the old Caledonian Pine forest are such magnificent specimens and make such wonderful subjects, but as here, looking their best with this sort of dramatic lighting.
Have a very merry Christmas and I send my best wishes for 2013 and looking forward to many more fine shots from you from the far north........well it is to me in the central belt.
Ronnie.
(PS........sorry if I go on a bit......R)

This is a very atmospheric image. I do like the sun rays bursting forth through the old Scots pines - great stuff. A very happy Christmas to you and your family. Look forward to my doses of Scotland via your lens next year! Smile
