Took the kids and the dog up Ord ban recently, a wee hill overlooking Loch an Eilein and Strathspey. My intention had been to photograph autumn foliage but in the end the kids were too tired after a lot of steep ascent and heather hopping to go to better viewpoints on the Cairngorm side. However returning the the Strath, the birch were golden and once the shower passed over and on to Kingussie there was a nice vista. I'm not normally one for taking vistas these days, but I felt the FG birch might justify it on this occasion.

Looks a pretty good vista to me, Al. Suitably moody, a triumverate of birches, and the yellow foliage glows nicely against the grey sky. The misty light in the distance helps puull you through the image as well. I'd say you'd done good Smile

The contrast in the light on the f/g trees and the sky and distant mountains create a wonderful and superb atmosphere,
