This is lovely - nearly as lovely as it would be on 5"x4" sheet film, I suspect...

I can't quite get over the way that digital gives such variable sharpness across the image: it leaves a slightly uneven feel that gets in my way as a viewer, even in such an accomplished and lovely shot as this.

It would be interesting to know what processing was involved.

And... It is a really beautiful shot: I'm envious of your luck, and your ability to capitalise on it and produce such a lovely result!

Hi John,
Processing - image shot in raw - minimal processing in lightroom ( levels and contrast) then converted to B&W also in lightroom. Variable sharpness is probably down to me not getting it quite right - also I find sometimes in the long exposures it can be a bit variable.

The composition is so good here. A wonderful collection of shapes and textures enhanced by the effect of the 10 stopper Kate. I have been catching up with your portfolio and although the colour version is excellent its the mono version that shines for me. Please accept my UA.
