A view across Balmaha marina on L. Lomond on a dull cloudy day two weeks back: not much to say about it other than I liked the subdued soft light and the the cloud patterns.

Many thanks to all who commented on Seeking The Light and with special thanks to Trev {achieverswales} for his GEA which was a great surprise and so delightfully received.

Ronnie.

Did you take a similar shot months ago? But with a very different atmosphere?
I think the soft light of this particular day helps with the beautiful clouds and the higher trees, right from a 19th century painting, and the boats in all there different shades stand out more.

It is very atmospheric, much more so than a bright day's capture which focusses the viewer on the bright boats.

Still fine colours Ronnie despite the cloudy day.
Had a bit of a ''scotcher'' here today,
and it is supposed to last over the weekend too.
Good shot.
Mick.

Yes, this is so peaceful Ronnie you can almost hear the lap-lap of the water on the boat.
Admitedly a grey sky but those lovely clouds break it up and give indepth to the hills beyond…….

The light may have been subdued but you have produced a bright image with good contrast which picks out the colours and cloud shapes well, Ronnie. Excellent composition with the tree on the left, end of jetty on right, and grass in the foreground, framing the image well. The presentation is spot on too, the white border picking up the whites in the image. The photographer's art of making a good image of a busy scene.

It certainly does looks a peaceful place to sit and ponder Smile Often images looks better with subdued light, rather than glorious sunshine all the time. I went to a 1940s weekend last Sunday and it was dull, which I think worked better photographically than had it been strong sun. Nice capture, Ronnie. and a very well composed image Wink

Thanks for the comments on Finale Ronnie. The flowers are real Geraniums (Cranesbill) not the Zonal Pelargoniums which we usually call Geraniums.
As for the title, I think people must be getting bored with isolated flowers surrounded by a vignette, so perhaps this could be the last one. I originally intended 'The Last Post' to be my final upload, but changed my mind at the last minute. Will see how I feel in a day or two.
