I took the children for a walk up a steep hill near Roseberry Topping this afternoon, and took the camera in case we got a decent view from the top. The sun shone all the way up, but of course it went behind the clouds when we finally got to the view, so this is a pretty dark and moody sky over Roseberry. My husband says it's nothing special, but Josh thinks it's worth an airing, and I haven't been antwhere else for days, so here it is. All comments welcome.

super image leigh, brilliant depth to this one .another plus that sky is excellent regards steve.
Hi Leigh, another great shot, IMO the foreground stones, sharp and nice as they are are for me too light and draw the eye away from the topping and the fantastic Tandbergesque sky, this is only how I see it, the veiwer is allowed to fall off the bottom of the image, if the stones were darker the eye would be contained and roam around inside the shot.
I hope this makes sense, Its not wrong in any way.
Steve
Thanks everyone, Steve C, I see what you mean, cos I already darkened the stones and dodged the central area a little to try to get the balance right. Guess I could have gone further with it. Thanks for your useful observation.
Leigh
A lovely well balanced shot. maybe just a wee boost in contrast would lift it, and can I suggest toning down the white piece of lichen?? half way up th right hand side as it distracts the eye a bit
but hey I'm being picky, lovely shot well deserving of an RC
Stephen
