This locomotive was built in 1997 by her owner Mr Allen Civil in the style of Bagnalls of Stafford.
One of the most important Bagnall features is the Bagnall Price valve gear, but because of the bright sunlight this feature was mostly in dark shadow. I have attempted to make the valve gear more prominent by manipulating the image with the various contrast and colour functions in my software. The aim being to preserve as much of the colour, particularly black, whilst at the same time lightening the area beneath the footplate and tanks without it looking too pale.

The picture was taken at the opening celebrations for the new workshop and motive power depot on the Golden Valley Light Railway at Swanick Junction in Derbyshire.
