Here are a further two images taken a few years back of Penarth following on from my previous upload. Interested to know, if you have the time, how you feel they compare.
Regards and have a good weekend.
Always a treat to see your images, the portrait format suits the image well.
Prefer the portrait version myself but the landscape version presents a lovely dreamy feel. Both images are of a top quality though.
Of the three versions posted in the last two days, Alun, this portrait version, V 1, today is my favourite: difficult to put into words why.......just seems to me to be the most aesthetically pleasing with a good balance of the various elements.
Both of these are superb - excellent photography!
Prefer the portrait version of this Alun. would have preferred not to see the greeny building and just include the pier but that's down to personal taste I know. Both images do it justice though
Surprised you're not out and about, should be a good sunset down your way tonight
V2 for me - love the expanse of sky.
V1 with the beautiful rock f/g. ...............Sandy
Thanks everyone. I think I prefer the portrait too, Ronnie but then I always prefer portrait orientation
Ange - It's nearly high tide and incoming at sunset so I thought I'd seek a shot elsewhere - no water in sight!
Thanks a lot Dave,Sarah, Christina and sandy. V. much appreciated.
Portrait version for me too Alun, but both cracking shots!
Two beautiful photos. Excellent work.
two crackers alun v1 for me today brilliant fg detail nice one
I'll go with V1.....the upright format has so much more impact, with terrific detail & colours.....1st class !
Thanks Rog, Andy, Alan and Keith. Seems to be a clear consensus on these. Much appreciated.
Prefer v1 Alun - the cloud colour I think is really pleasing - composition as always is exemplary.
Wonderfully clean image, crystal clarity and fine colours, the best one of the series for me. Your framing, I used to frame every image and then I realised that it made the image that much smaller.
well deserved HC Alun
Pair of fabulous images Alun....must take a trip back down there soon.
Congrats on the award.
Two more wonderful images Alun - V2 is my fav !
Congrats on the well deserved award.
A beauty Alun, congrats on the badge
V2 for me Alun, I love the comp & sky, V1 is also very nice, well composed and great light but seen similar all too often on here (only need to look as far as my PF for that )
Thanks for sharing!
Geoff - Thanks, m8. The clouds appealed to me too.
Dougie. Thanks a lot. Hwmmm. Do you think it's better not to frame images then? It is less work and they will appear bigger so maybe you're right. I just thought that maybe a frame makes them more fit for public consumption.
Thanks, also, Yung, Alan, Chris Les and Tim for your comments.
Huge thank you to Pete for the HC award. Thrilled with that.
Love the foreground in V1 Alun and those candy floss clouds. congrats on the HC.
Congrats Alun, V1 for me.
Wonderful fg detail in the pebbles and so well composed and captured with the beautiful colour in the sky.
Great shots, like the portrait version best.
Like your comp and the good light and tones. Congrats on the HC.
