O.K. I have taken everything on board from yesterday's posting & had another go at this image.
I used the origional Raw file again, this time converted it in Rawshooter.I tried to keep the colours as natural as possible but still maintaining that little bit of a romantic look.
Downloaded a demo of Alienskin & used a softening filter from the many available.
Read through Mattematic's eye tutorial & had a go with that !
Cropped the image quite a lot from prieviously, similar to atlas30's idea but even tighter.
So it's a combination of lots of suggestions & my own thoughts too !!
Thankyou all for your input yesterday,I hope you like the result.

Thankyou,I'm quite pleased with this one.
Roy..it looked o.k. until I uploaded it & I totally agree with you as it was my first thought when I checked it out on site..oh well, back to the drawing board ! Thankyou so much for your mods,I like them both to be honest, they give her a whole different look & I even think I can work out what you have done !!
K...are you alright ??...lol don't worry,it's only a picture !!
Caleb..as you can see from yesterday's image..it's too bright..lol
Thanks for the feedback everyone, nice to know you are out there.

A very good portraoit. The eyes and the stare are something else.
I was on my way with the HC Neal![]()
Great shot considering it was your first time, and nerves, which seemed to disappear about three seconds in
I prefer this version over the previous, but when you crop tightly you have to consider the elemements you're cropping. In this case I think the small amount of hand is a bad thing and needs removing. To see what I mean check the mod I did. Of course, you may not agree.
My word, thankyou Pete, nice compliment & thanks for the day too it was interesting.
I see your point about a tight crop & bits that aren't realy of any use in the frame.I do like the way you have cropped,to be honest..no realy..I like both images I suppose it's how your eye perceives what is in the frame, your mod is much more intense with great emphasis on those stunning eyes.Mine I find a little softer & the hand, well just adds a softer feel for me although I do think it should be a bit darker as it doesn't quite balance with her neck @ bottom left which was my intention when I cropped.
Flippin' hard work this portrait side of things !!

well done janet
im still trying to get back into the grips of things after my big day
still all of a high at the mo
well done on a well deserved hc
I've been flicking between yesterday's and today's for a quite a while comparing the two versions. My conclusion, contrary to most comments above, is that I prefer yesterday's, although this is still VERY GOOD. The reasons why I prefer yesterday's are that:
1) I'm not sure the tighter crop works, mostly because her hand seems a distraction when you can't see the rest of her arm. I think Pete's crop resolves this and results in a stronger picture.
2) I prefer the warmer skin tones in yesterday's version. Today's is perhaps a little too cool in tone?
3) I just love the head and shoulders pose from yesterday!
Of course these reasons are purely down to my personal taste! And I should say that I am talking about which of two fantastic pictures I prefer, i.e. today's is still fab. I just think yesterday's is a bit fabber!
Well done on the HC and you certainly have a click from me.
All the best,
Steve

Jane this is spectacular, love it. Every element works just perfectly, congrats on the HC
Anne
The even light on the skin tones and brightness in the eyes makes this a beauty Janet.
Doug.
I like the softer effect in this one, lovely bright eyes and beautiful skin tones, congratulations on the HC....well deserved,
