Thanks early birds. What I noticed with this subject was the way that the torn canvas leaves its imprint on the wood.

I was uptown having lunch, and whilst waiting for it to be served, browsed my EPZ faves on my iPhone, and this one really stood out A cracking composition and presentation, Moira, with super tones and textures....with the added bonus of some Saturday Shadows too! Think I might just have to give this my UA....

Excellent take Moira and most interesting, I did look again at the underneath of the canvas and agree with you - it's good to know the museum at Beamish are interested and have taken it.
Love this one, Moira, so beautifully composed, it speaks to me of my years in the antiques trade when I saw many chests in this condition, but like old teddy bears, which we would term well-loved, their charm is in the wear and tear, and the idea that it has travelled far and seen many fascinating places.
