A detail of old luggage in Rowley Station, now transplanted to Beamish Museum.
Thanks for looking,
love the composition, but esp. the texture (tissus déchiré)
Great comp and textures, Moira.
Wonderful textures, Moira, I wonder if today's modern suitcases will last that long? Carol
Thanks early birds. What I noticed with this subject was the way that the torn canvas leaves its imprint on the wood.
Got to go out - I'll call back in later.
High contrast, shadows, rust, texture... multi-tasking, Moira
Dave has said it all ! lovely crisp image
I wonder who owned such a chest, where has it been, so many questions to ask, and I am sure so many tales tell. A great image, full of wonderfully defined textures and tones, whilst the warming light adds a gentle feeling to the piece.
A good image of an interesting detail.
Great texture, contrast, details Moira. A fascinating composition
Excellent comp and the position with the torn cloth and lock is perfect ,amazing detail and that silver sheen is just right all in all you did very well Moira, well captured and presented.
Lovely composition Moira - great shadows and I particularly like the lines from the torn fabric
A great example of there being a picture every where if we can see it, such a well detailed image. - garuy

Is this where airline baggage handlers learn their trade?
Great textures and comp, well captured Moira.
The lighting brings out the texture well
Excellent textures Moira!
I was uptown having lunch, and whilst waiting for it to be served, browsed my EPZ faves on my iPhone, and this one really stood out A cracking composition and presentation, Moira, with super tones and textures....with the added bonus of some Saturday Shadows too! Think I might just have to give this my UA....

When I read this comment I had to go back and have another look, you're right. Isn't that odd?
Fabulous shot Moira, one of the best of it's kind methinks!
Excellent take Moira and most interesting, I did look again at the underneath of the canvas and agree with you - it's good to know the museum at Beamish are interested and have taken it.
Love this one, Moira, so beautifully composed, it speaks to me of my years in the antiques trade when I saw many chests in this condition, but like old teddy bears, which we would term well-loved, their charm is in the wear and tear, and the idea that it has travelled far and seen many fascinating places.
Fabulous tactile image.
great texture, Moira. that row of rivets in the bottom part is just beautiful
My sort of shot --very well done
a fantastic, grotty detail!
