Yes, I've done this, it's fun and it's also about seeing the less obvious picture.
Can I suggest that if you cropped a slice off the right side it would give a background composition nearer to what is on the camera screen, and also concentrate attention better on the relationship between the screen and the falls? I hope that makes sense, and that you won't be offended by the suggestion.
