Before I set up my recent Red Palette which was very well received,
my intention was to take some images of these Physalis which are
lovely fruit for macro photography.
Don't know if I've done them justice.
I applied the soft focus in Picasa because I don't know how to do it in Photoshop!
Anybody help me?
Thank you all for votes for Mount Errigal & Dunlewely Church.

Luv the subtle colours and lighting, a very competent piece of still life photography and good composition.
Well done, Kate.

In my opinion Kate this one is not as successful as red palette, the outer edges are brighter than the fruit! So giving the impression of under exposure, the fruit needs some colour applied to make the viewer place the attention there, the soft focus is very good, once again only my opinion and loads I expect will disagree.

Regards

Trev.

They remind me of little ladies-in-waiting. I like the triangular composition.

A beautiful image Kate, however I feel that there is something missing, something which will make me explore deeper. I feel the background takes the edge off the fruit and thus confusing ones eye. I feel that if you were to use a darker background this would enhance the image greatly. "I apologise if I said to much, and I in no way questioning your undoubted talent, it's just a personal opinion, "Which maybe I should keep to myself, as you have asked for no critique?.

I think this is very well worked. There is a certain subtlety about the focus, lighting and colour which appeals to me.

Wonderful soft light in this Kate giving brilliant shades of gold and brown. Love it.
Jason

PS Can't see what's wrong with doing it in Picasa if it gives the effect you want - I do it myself sometimes.

I'd never heard of physalis before, I thought this would be the name for an outercase that dragonflies emerge from or something. You learn something new on here everyday
