its a pleasant shot of a nice sunset....it took me a while to locate the fishermen though Smile ...the sky and the light tower catches the eye first and thats largely because they dominate over every other aspect of the shot........i think for this to work with the fishermen being the primary element you would have needed to be closer enabling them to be a bit more prominent in the shot. Having said that though this still works as a pleasant scene on its own Smile.

I have attempted a mod where i have tried to make the fishermen more prominent, have cropped from the top, bottom and the left to sort of balance out the various elements. Have also tried to bring out the blue in the sky a bit more....hope this helps

Cheers

Over all its a great sunset shot, looking at it you could be almost anywhere in the world, only neg comments (and there must be at least one!!) is the harbor wall a bit on the dark side, see mod have also taken out of sky.
But otherwise I like it a lot.
Mike.

Appreciate the comments and mod, title was a bit hasty, Pier sunset would be more appropriate Wink

Technically competent image with some impact. Title or not I would have come in rather tighter on the pier head and anglers. They are the subject here.

I think improvements of any kind here should be kept to alterations to the composition.

I'd crop a bit from the left where there's less of interest and an appropriate amount from either the top or the bottom (delete as appropriate) to retain the aspect ratio. Personally I'd crop the top.

Bren.

I have to agree with the comments made by members above and I think the real focus of this shot is the wonderful sunset and sky, however I do also like the silhouetted pier and fishermen who add a human aspect to the image. I do think the image can be cropped to emphasis the sunset and sky as well as having the shadows increased to really silhouette the pier. In my mod I have also desaturated the blues to darken the sea and stop it taking on a bright unnatural blue tone.

My only real criticism of this image is the poor focus of the pier light, as a silhouette it should be crisp and after auto focus I would be tempted to switch to manual and just fine tune for the architectural structures.

Overall though a really nice image and I hope you find my comments helpful.
