Taken last weekend late afternoon - clear winter light and blooming cold - but there is still a touch of autumn in these colours.
Just for once I have resisted the pleasures of PSP - a single sharpen pass and a simple crop from the top otherwise it fell of the back of a camera - onest gov!
This is also part of the experiment to see how a fluffy version versus works in attracting comments and views against something more worthy - so do please check out V2
Cheers
Robert

I found V1 immediately attractive, V2 is growing on me. Both in different ways make interesting sense out of complex lines.

An excellent shot in v1. I think you'd done great in v2 by filling it up by lines, a splash of light and reflection. Great work Robert.

v2 for me , its a well seen abstract thats lit and saturated and for me says more and grabs my attention far more than the v1 version,
The v1 version is ok but not outstanding or with any real impact. it may well be a good deal stronger as a high contrast mono.
Phil
Thanks for your comments much appreciated - its Clevedon Pier Carol north coast of Somerset near Weston Super Mud. I do agree with the comments about V1 it is perhaps a little worthy and also maybe a little flat - V2 certainly excited me more.
Cheers

V1's the friendly shot I guess, it's accessible, obvious what it is and looks pretty good to me. a bit of human interst with the couple there helps, good side lighting brings out the repeated curves of the metal work.
yeah-pleasing. Never anyu flyffy clouds when you need them though is there?

V2's not working so well for me, the potential is there, but I'm not sure the balance of elements is quite right - the main reason is that oyu've got the 2 lit arches on the right then a different are to the left. I'm thinking that maybe if you'd slpit the shot into 3 thirds, and had the arces taking up 2/3 rather than 1/2, it may balace up a bit better. It's a hard one though - there's so much goiing on in the shot that it'd push anyone to get a truly striking abstract with a strong focal point.
maby that's it, we've not really for a focal point or something to say "Ahh - that's what the photo is about".
Still - the fact that it's made me think about it and waffel on means it's definitely not a throw away shot !!! maybe just have a play in photoshop and tripm slices off the left and see how it changed the feel

Fluffy or Worthy? I don't really get it, but remember reading a forum thread about it. What the hell, I like both of them. I realise there is a vast difference between the images, but they are essentially the same thing. It all depends, imho, whether you like the view or the abstract. I appreciate both. V1 for the composition mainly. V2 for the lines, shapes and colours.
Hi Robert Fantastic shot with such little work done it is good to see shots of this calibre
I love V1 but V2 is the one that really gets my attention as it is such an interesting shot.
I thought I recognised that pier my hubby comes from Somerset and loves Clevedon it is so peaceful there - Debbie
