Haven't uploaded for a while. Way too busy with work to even touch my camera. Taken using TV setting and shutter speed 60 I think (not much faster/slower than that). The light wasn't very good, it was quite dull and grey outside. I adjusted the WB setting to 0.5 and I cant remember what the AV setting was. Any tips to help me with this would be much appreciated. Oh modify at will.
cheers for looking
Lissa

Hi Lissa,
A colourful pigeon, which perhaps you can tell is a little underexposed. You can see this if you look at the histogram in camera or in Photoshop, on the right the graph stops well short of the end of the axis.
A little levels adjustment, closer crop, and quite a bit of sharpening is the resulting mod. You need to remember to sharpen after you re size for the web.
You mentioned you selected shutter priority, and I wonder why? Since the bird is standing, this is better shot with aperture priority, selecting say f/5.6, and letting the camera look after the speed, ensuring it is fast enough to handhold at your focal length, and if too slow, increase ISO until its right.
The rule for minimum shutter speed when hand holding is 1/focal length * crop factor, - I think your camera has a 1.6 crop factor?
Cloned in the grass to cover the background also.
Hope this is helpful,
Regards
Willie

Yes, a reasonable image but showing the dull day along with a little under exposure. Easily cropped to fill the frame, especially when submiting at only 600 pixels and needs that bit of brightness and contrast as in the mod.
A bit of a sharpness tweet needed too.

Hi Lissa. Nice to see you back and thanks for your comments on my recent posts, much appreciated as always.
I agree with the others, it's a little under exposed, gonna have first attempt at a modification tonight with this one.
Other than that i think it's decent shot with good dof.
Cheers
Ricky.
Please see my mod. Hope it's OK.
I've had quite a fiddle with this. I gave it a workout in "Photoshop" which is almost all I ever use but for some reason, I just wasn't happy with it so I had a go in "Picasa" and I think it's worked pretty well.
Jester.
Edit: I sharpened it slightly in "Photoshop" as well.
Thank you for the modifications and advice. I tried some of the advice on another shot and posted it yesterday. I like both modifications. Cheers!!
