Welcome to the site Helen.
You have chosen the cutest shot to open your portfolio. Who could fail to go "aaaaahhhhh, how sweet". The dog is nice and sharp, both the nose and the eyes. The only point is that patch of bright light over the eye. It's best if you can avoid harsh light falling directly on the dog so you get more even lighting. Choose a shadier spot, or move around a bit or get somebody to stand in the sunlight so it is shielded from falling on the dog.
