This is known as Dragon Fruit.
The colours are accurate in V2.
It is edible.
To me tastes a bit like frogs spawn with added grit.

And ... yes !! ... shant be buying one again too quickly

How amazing that you know what it tastes like, Barbs, now I have a picture of you in the local woods, on your hands and knees beside a pond, gobbling up the frog spawn! Excellent images good colour and textures, never seen one before. Carol

SO disappointed - i#ve always thought they'd taste great - like mint choc chip icecream or something.
the colours & darkness in V1 are great, & the vignette really adds to it.

Before I read your write up I thought that, when I had one a while ago, it reminded me of frog spawn too! It does have a strange taste and you are right about the grit! That aside, it does make a superb "model", and your shots have captured it perfectly.

Saw lots of these on the market stalls in Hong Kong - we did experiment but obviously were not very impressed as I can't remember what it tasted of now. Your 2 shots are very good with excellent detail, texture and colour.

V1 for the textures and twisted lines. I'll pass on V2, I did eat this stuff once, which was a mistake I won't repeat.

I'm fascinated to read how many ladies out there are experienced consumers of frog spawn, with or without extra grit Smile
Superb colour and texture; I'll be content with the outside!

Two excellent captures of the 'Dragon Fruit,' Barbara. I have never heard or seen, one of these 'Pitaya,' before. Beautiful color, clarity, & textures, demonstrated so nicely with your D80. "v1," captures my 'fancy the most, today.' Artistic work. Stay well.

Never knew what frogspawn tasted like. Shame. With a name like that, I suppose that is what you expect.
