Having been ice-free only a few days earlier, a repeat visit to Loch Pityoulish rewarded me with plenty of ice which had been wind blow as it formed, leaving an almost crazy paving effect.

It certainly has that layered effect. The wind must have been breaking up the ice as it was forming. I got a different shot at loch an Eilein this morning where the ice, breaking up in the thaw was blown into stacks at the edge. That's a post for another day. Thanks for being the early bird again on my upload! Grin

The steely tones and textures in the ice are wonderful. Love the muted colours.

The weather has produced some wonderful texturing of the ice surface for you here, Alan, and another fine winter portrait format landscape.
Looks cold and quite moody thus time with that limited palette of colours.
Ronnie.

Excellent light, colour and texture on the ice, Al. Easily best of the set so far for me.
