Well, a good response to a meet of EPZers in York on the 24th. At this moment in time there are at least seven of us!
The pedestrianised Place Drouet d'Erlon is the heart of the shopping district of Reims. Here you can find as well as shops, numerous restaurants and cafés. In the centre of the place stands this monumental fountain (V1) made by sculptor Na-joux, which was created in 1930, and mounted over a column that crowns the fountain is the gleaming gold statue of Winged Victory. Can’t find any info about the more modern fountain in V3; shame it wasn’t working at the time I was there Sad

Reading your write up, as it began with mention of the York meet, I found myself thinking, this doesn't look like York. So then I read it properly.... WinkWink.
Three excellent images, Trev - that modern fountain is rather intriguing, such a contrast to the more traditional one dominating the scene. I bet it looks wonderful when working, especially if it's lit up at night.

I like all of these, the figures add scale, also movement and life.
So York prepares for an epz invasion... Wink

Reims certainly looks a lot brighter and smarter than I remember it, probably because my one visit was at the height of August when everything was roasting hot, clammy, sweaty and dirty and a storm was brewing.
This tower looks much nicer than the more famous and larger one in the Place de la Bastille in Paris: it is of a pleasanter scale and in a pedestrian zone rather than a vast and tumultuous traffic roundabout.
Your processing and presentation are instantly recognisable and as usual excellent. I almost prefer V1 for the wider and longer perspective!
Regards
Bill

P.S.: Already looking forward to York Smile

A great set of various aspects of the town: when we passed through on a Cotter's tour way back, we stopped here for half an hour at most so got no images. Good to see what we missed, Trev.
