Back outdoors at the MOSI, just outside the Power Hall the 'Planet' locomotive was steaming up ready to take passengers on a trip down the line. This impressive engine was built by the Friends of the Museum and has been providing rides for visitors since 1992. It's a modern replica of a Robert Stephenson loco used to haul trains on the Liverpool and Manchester Railway in 1830. You can just make it out left of centre in my earlier upload Old and New.

A fine bit of work on the part of the Friends of the Museum, Trev: wonderful modern replica and in full working order.
And your capture and presentation is just right for the supposed age of the loco.

It looks unreal to me .Would it have been better in its original state.? Just my opinion. I feel many images on here are so worked on they take away from a fine shot

Such a beautiful replica locomotive, Trev, and as if that weren't enough, you have some interesting reflections in the wet platform.

I can remember the original, Trev - well, from my books at least!
Good to see this. Tweaked with panache!

A touch of glamour photography here Trev,
with a steaming old boiler !!
And page three stuff too,
with these large protruding buffers !!
Good shot.

Steam and rain give an added atmosphere to this shot Trev. The reflection on the wet platform is an enhancing detail. Looks like a great place to spend a few hours.
Your processing is perfect for this shot.
I bet that reproduction runs better than some of Virgin's trains!
