...a fairly new boat outside one of the slate sheds by Loch Leven at Ballachulish. Everywhere you look there's slate discard lying, whole almost islands sticking into the loch. It's a fascinating place once you get your teeth into it.

An unusual subject for such a perfect composition, Dougie. And why not, indeed? Even the boat looks almost organic.

Bill

There's a slate mine above Buttermere in the LD - and when I walked over there the slate seemed to be scattered for miles around the mine itself. Love the greys...

Fascinating to see these sheds, Dougie. Taking the principal of using local materials to the extreme. I would never have dreamt of being able to use slate to build other than a low wall.

The boat looks rather lost there. It creates an intriguing, surprising focal point, but the image is about the slate textures for me.

A really good photograph, sorry I can't expand further due to my current posture and discomfort.

The boat does look out of place there, but makes an unexpected feature amongst alll that slate, and possibly provides a talking point.

obviously the slate is most useful to some and we would pass it off as debri, you on the other hand have found the perfect use for it by making a subject for photography Wink there are photo's all over the place some of the best images are found close to home if we are just prepared to LOOK for them, me includedSmile well done Dougie for originality

A well done composition with the use of colours from the boat as a contrast
