Difficult shot to compose, due to the fact that there was hardly any ground to stand on in the spot I was trying to take this shot from. But it comes close to what I wanted.

One thing I like about it, is that it shows the rather messy character of this part of the harbour in Brancaster Staithe without the image being too cluttered.

Comments, critiques and mods welcome, as always!

I love these kind of photos that are artistically composed and the photographer has found beauty and art in unusual place,
this is lovely and well worth a view

I like the idea behind this and there is strong colour and a good sky but, as you say, the opportunity to move was very limited. If possible I would have moved to the left a little so that the back of the boat was in shot and I would have moved that red sign that is lying on the ground. Andy

Ah, but I wasn't going for a "clean composition" in a messy place - I thought it was perfectly allright to show it was messy. Moving to the left was a bit of a problem, but I know what you mean, and it would indeed have helped. Oh, and thanks for the mod - it's always good to see someone else's take on an image!

It's a very different take on the place, for sure - these harbours can be really quite untidy, but you have indeed made an image that shows this without being too cluttered - and keeps the atmosphere. Job done! Carol
