Thanks for all your comments votes and to Eric for his user award yesterday, today some Polecats from the trip to the BWC.
Some of you will have seen the comment I put on yesterday with the copy of email received for those who missed it here it is again.

Dear Trevor

As one of the finalists in the A Magazine international photo contest, I am writing to inform you that the two winners have now been chosen.

Unfortunately, your entries were not selected as the overall winner in the Color in the natural world category. The standard of entries was extremely high and making the final shortlist (twice) was an accomplishment in itself. You should therefore be commended for remaining in contention right until the very end.

I would like to thank you for your interest in our competition and sincerely hope that you will take part in the 2013 contest, which we plan to launch mid-way through the year. Please keep an eye on our website for details (www.akzonobel.com/amagazine).

Best of luck with all your future photographic endeavors.

Regards

Many congrats. on doing so well and reaching the final shortlist twice, Trev, a real achievement indeed and better luck next time.
And a fine selection of polecat shots today, each well captured but for presence, pose, detail, etc. I think your choice for V 1 was well considered. Love that cute expression in V 1 and the bright attentive eyes.
Ronnie.

Sorry to hear you didn't win a trip to Yellowstone - that would have been amazing.
It just shows how difficult it is to win photography competitions but no shame in having reached the level you did.
Good luck next year.
Wonderful images today of the Polecats especially V1.
Polecats remind me of words in song from Seven Brides for Seven brothers sung by Howard Keel!

My hat goes off to you Sir. Reaching the final stages of this rather prestigious competition twice in a row is something to be extremely proud of, and I hope that you will continue to strive forwards and hopefully win next years top award. You are indeed a very talented photographer, and your time will come. GrinGrinGrin

Regards Nathan.

P.S. This magnificent set simply reiterates my words.

V1 is a real corker Trevor the detail in the coat is superb, with cracking attentive eye contact. Sad to hear you did not win however making the final shortlist twice is really quite something to be proud off especially in an international contest you can hold your head high for sure

A wonderful set of images Trev, v1 is exceptional. The polecat in v2 and v4 looks very much like one of our ferrets Lola. These lively little mischief makers never keep still so you have done brilliantly to get five top quality shots.
