Another shot of the Pont du Gard. Was doing a bit more research about it yesterday and found that it apparently is one of France's top five tourist attractions, with 1.4 million visitors each year. Not bad. I would have never guessed.

So it prompt the obvious question of what could the first four attractions be: Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Le Louvre and Versaille? But what about Mont St-Michel, Notre Dame, the Loire Chateaux, Cathedrale d'Amien, Cathedrale of Rouen etc... Oh well, statistics! We can't always rely on them, can we?

I'm not sure the foreground is interesting enough to merit the portrait-format approach. A more 'classical' horizontal format would bring in more of the bridge, but a good shot all the same.

I sort of agree with joolsb but it does look like a lovely place.

I visited the pont du guard a few years ago as a tourist and I think you have done well here by photographing the bridge and river from this angle. If I could go back to France with my camera I'd revisit the gorge du verdun !Look forward to seeing more of your photos. Gillian

Nice shot with a good light. But may be to much foreground.

I always liked Terry Pratchet's approach to statistics. Paraphrasing here - it's a million to one shot - but they happen nine times out of ten!
