Just tried a Sony alpha 200 & an Olympus E620 on this poppy just bloomed in my garden.
V1 to V5 taken in a Sony alpha 200 & V6 to V10 in an Olympus E 620.
V3, V4 & V5 are also a tutorial for choosing a right close up work, and for your special comments, which will be a teaching tools for my students.

This is what I think you are asking for--- For macros, or close ups of this sort you first need to think about what you wat to be in sharp focus--all or specific parts of the flower-- Clearly, you know how to do this--from these images-- The smaller your f stop, the more of the flower that can be in sharp focus---
and for what ever reason-- your reds are al first rate-- great colors!
