This is the result of an experiment using Caleb Daniels poppy photoshop tutorial. Er.. well an adaptation of it, since these aren't poppies and I didn't use photoshop O.o

Still, I had a lot of fun with it, and the result looks more interesting than the original picture to my thinking.

This was shot a few months ago, very early spring and we had a terrible frost after a very nice few weeks where all the flowers popped up. So you'll see the frost on the tulips, they really struggled after that. I came back to this same spot a week later and the poor things were all dead. It was that cold.

Comments and critique more than welcome as always. Feel free to let me have it, I read every comment and try out just about every suggestion. Thanks for looking!

Lol.. the original name of this image was "Tulips of Frost" but because of looboss making me chuckle, I've decided to rename it "Poppy Lips" in tribute to the poppy tutorial and the subject of this photo, tulips teehee!!

Mutton dressed as lamb or is it tulips posing as poppies ?
I looked at the tutorial but it was long winded since I dint have any poppy shots I skipped it.

Nice try though, I like you will try anything one, photographically speaking you understand Wink

As it stands, it is very fine-- Well thought out--- well designed--

As I was looking at it-- It occured to me, someone like Matisse would like this-- and it would be somewhat of a blur-- One could try it with a bit of Gausian Blur-- ( I am unaware of the tutorial you worked from)

Whatever, good to try new ways of working! Go for it!

The tutorial is on epz here Jen, it's a pretty cool one and not too difficult to adapt if you prefer using corels psp XI as I did. I only ran into a snag when it came to the watercolor effect. My copy of pspX has a watercolor script action in it but I haven't transferred it over yet. (and I suppose I could have just used CS, but I already had the psp open hehe)

Thanks for your comments!

Not sure of the treatment you gave this, but I think it looks beautiful.
