This was taken with my new Elemental M Series Ultra Pro Studio 600 I won in the EPZ xmas draw.
Studio is new to me so I know its not a perfect shot but i'm really pleased with it.
I had the silver umbrella to my left and the softbox to my right.
Thanks EPZ and elemental for such a fantastic and high quality prize which i'm gonna have great fun with.

Lovely lighting! lol! Well done on your win.

The tone of her skin and hair looks great - really fresh and natural.

I know you're only experimenting at the moment, but it looks like the focus is on her left eye and hair - this means that her right eye is a little soft. For me, it would be more pleasing to have both eyes sharp.

Thanks Katie a really nice comment.
As the dof was so minimal I tried to focus on the eye nearest to me but found it quite hard whilst my younger daughter was being naughty and messing about lol.

In trying to get a decent shutter speed I always - and usually wrongly - choose the widest aperture I can... and then forget what a narrow DoF it gives me! In this case it probably just needs a stop or two down and to focus on the front-most eye. Now you've got your flash, you can go for it!

You can't go wrong with a nice 50mm lens, though - it's worth sticking with it while you experiment. Simplifies things.

Thanks Katie Smile

Great shot. You don't need both eyes in focus -just the leading one rather than the trailing eye, but either way it's a really well toned shot. Try using the brolly as the key light too - round catchlights are always nicer.

All the best,

Danny
