Following the very generous comments about my landscape shot of Llanddwyn I thought I'd upload a portrait comp which benefited from some great side-lighting. Thanks for looking and if you have time to go large all the better. Thanks for looking.

Beautifully composed and balanced shot once again, Alun, the side lighting showing off the details and textures in the fore and middle grounds so well, and with the portrait format eminently appropriate. Lovely bit of landscape work.
Ronnie.

Superb composition with a very well chosen viewpoint to make the most of the interesting shapes of the rocky outposts. I particularly like details such as the positioning of the path leading to the building and the way it stands out so clearly. The colours are also excellent. Charles.

Wow it reached 30 votes. Very encouraging again. I've always found portrait orientation easier when conveying depth. The images that have received the most attention here fall into that category so it must mean that I need to improve my landscape orientation shots! :O)

As mentioned by many above it is the quality of the composition that really stands out here. A very effective lead-in from the rocks in the foreground to the stony ground on the right then up the path to the lighthouse the distant mountains and a beautiful sky. A great visual journey.
Wonderful light and great colour. Superb Alun.
