I think this is the first time I have seen such a close-up head on portrait of the woodpecker, Danny.
Not a trace of noise at ISO 1600 (as far as I can see) and excellent plumage detail.
Nice 'pose' too and with a catch of light in the eye.
Very well captured shot.
