Whilst experimenting with light, reflections and a bowl full of my five a day, I began to create a series of different compositions "not quite a fruit compote". In order that I may add a splash of colour to my dining room walls. The pears were illuminated using two standard desk lamps, the background consisted of a sheet of faux black velvet, and the reflection via my ever willing black marble kitchen table. The technical stuff consisted of setting my camera onto a sturdy tripod, fitted with a remote release, I shot in Manual Mode, ISO 100, at f/22, with an exposure of 30 seconds.

a fine set of pairs Nathan ! love the reflection too just adds that little bit more to make it special
Soft lighting, well worked image, nice reflection too. good idea.
John
I do like this very much: a simple and humorous concept well executed. The white-edged 'mount' and carefully-chosen script work especially well.
Your intro is also well-written. I rather envy you the table!
There is a little wedge at bottom right where the black fades that could easily be cloned out, a minor matter that could be attended to in order to achieve pearfection ![]()

Looks good enough to eat Nathan! Super series and more to come I hope.

Yes, get rid of that lighter triangle, but otherwise this is good - and those pears have character. They seem to be supporting each other - maybe drunk or laughing hysterically?
And no, I haven't had anything to drink...

Great shot - I like the colours and subdued lighting

Well done Nathan.. A lovely arrangement and sharp images and great light and reflections..
Pearfect!
Stunning still life composition, reflections & light are beautiful!
Amazing result using simple objects. No matter how technically brilliant photographic equipment is becoming the human input is by far the most important element as you are so able to demonstrate with your photographs.
Brian.
