The great thing about this spot on Cape Ingolfshofoi, southern Iceland is that the backdrop is a 75m sheer cliff face down to the sea so that is was relatively easy to get shots with a uncluttered background; although it was also easy to get carried away and keep creeping closer to the edge yourself!
This one popped out of it burrow and stood in the early morning sunshine posing for me. They really are extremely cute little characters. After a minute or so it flew/plummeted of the cliff to join the crowd in the sea.
The version shows a beautifully in focus Puffin bottom! I had several shots of this type as I got to grips with birds-in-flight photography.
