Was in the local supermarket last week and this unusual [to me] begonia caught my eye and I bought it, I've been trying ever since to get a shot I liked, finally got this one which I think is a reasonable representation of it, and now I'm hoping you too will think so and like it! I'm uploading three versions of the same shot, just different crops and V1 has been rotated slightly. After trying, and finally abandoning, using a black card for my b/g, I hit on the idea of using a black sweater...eureka!...it worked.

Many thanks for your interest, comments, and votes on the 'Samson', I'm most appreciative.

It's still worthwhile hitting F11 for full screen viewing!

I like the texture effect of v1, as well as the composition of it.
What a beautiful begonia.

This is a beautiful and unusual begonia-- I like all versions, but I think you put the best one up for v1-- the sweater was an inspired idea! Well done!

Well done, Jim: good idea trying the black sweater......must keep that in mine too. All the effort has been so worth while with a nice set captured, and of the 3 presentations, V 2 is the one that stands out for me.
Ronnie.

A lovely image Jim. I'm connected to wifi in a motorhome repair shop right now, and it's slow, so can't open the other two versions. Really like V1, it's beautiful....................Sandy

An unusual shot for you Jim but hey that sweater worked. Like all 3 version 1 is my favourite but I love the included leaf too.

I think you could have got more detailed colour in the shots if perhaps you had stopped down a shot or put a polariser over the lens ?

I'm into hospital today for surgery tomorrow xx

A lovely photograph. The crop for V1 works best for me - excellent. The others seem a little unbalanced.
