I thought some here may be interested in seeing this set (and the rest to follow) of my mate Jason (helmet artist) getting his most famous client set for round one of this year's F1 Championship. Sadly, I can't reveal the special design features of the Oz Grand Prix helmet before the race weekend because it may 'p' a certain somebody off... in fact it would, bit I can give you a peek at the work in progress.

I'm back down there today to carry on with the photo record.
Mavis, sadly I don't think I will be going to Melbourne this year Sad ... or next... or the one after that!!

Thanks Richard and K. The paint work is all finished now and the helmet is on it's way to Japan to have the insides and trimmings fitted. I'll get a final montage of shots uploaded soon (the those few who are interested!)

Do you know, I never gave helmet painting a thought before - I will look more closely next time (if there is such a time) at the helmets - I wonder how many other things I never give a thought to??
