Ok subtle it ain't, but I'm quite partial to an 'in yer face' sunset now and again.
Earlier this year when I decided to pay a visit to 'that rock' in Dorset.
(Now I'll get moaned at for not telling anyone I was going )
what a brilliant shot, the light, detail, colours, depth and water movement are spot on
Wow! Quite a sunset.
Stunning. Great sky. Love the crashing waves. Loads of drama.
Wow, stunning shot.
Absolutely amazing image... What a great combination of everything you need at the coast for a perfect image.
AWESOME. hats off to a corker,
looks like a mega click shot to me.
W O W !
speaks for itself!
Very dramatic Kris, love the vibrant colours of the sunset coupled with the incoming waves. Good luck with tomorrow
Wonderful. Nothing to be said, just great.
It's certainly got the EPZ "Ooooooh" factor
Fantastic, action packed shot, with beatiful sky, good one
In yer face, definitely, and all the better for it. Love it to bits.
Now that's a bit nice Kris. Very dramatic capture.
Now that is amazingly dramatic.
Has some 'wow' factor, this one.
There ain't no doubting that its very very good.
But, and please forgive me if I'm wrong, but is that the original sky? My eye tells me its been dropped in.
Still gets my vote though cos its damn good.
Many thanks all, much appreciate your comments.
Thanks for the good luck wishes Anje, I'm looking forward to it.
No problem with you asking Ian (Rossi). It is the original sky, but it has been subjected to some selective levels and curves work to make it pop; par for the course when shooting RAW and processing for print.
And I actually reduced the saturation for ePz a touch too.
Drama with a capital D.
A staggeringly beautiful result...
Tremendous stuff, well done
An amaziing shot.. and a great sky.
Just stunning! Great colours, clarity and movement in the incoming wave. Great work.
Fantabuloso !!! there just when you thought all the words to praise this wonderful shot had been used I found one more for you, hope you have this on the wall
great dramatic shot. well done
I think this is a superb shot. I like the curved sweep of the rocks to lead the eye to Pulpit Rock itself and the sky and lighting are the best I've seen from this location. You've done very well with the timing of the wave and, IMO, used the right shutter speed to show the movement and power of it too. Very accomplished processing as well completes a really stunning image.
Awesome what a sky and that light is special too
one word: WOW!
Amazing image. Fantastic light, wonderful sky.
Many thanks again all.
Stunning shot! no more need be said.
As good as it gets Kris, one to look at for hours!
Talk a about a stunning sky!, Like the motion and mood added from the sea in the fg
This image sure has the wow factor.
A belter top drawer image , it's just stunning .

Missed this when it was first uploaded Kris. Don't know how, as it really leeps out of the screen.
A '1 in a million' shot - Pulpit Rock will never look like that again! Breathtaking stuff.
Many thanks Matt, I appreciate it.
Your shot inspired me to travel to Dorset last week and catch something similar - oh well, must go back and try again
Nearly 200 and well deserved
Blimey, hello Den, good to hear from you again. You should've dropped me a PM or e-mail.
Thanks for the comment.
Have Number 200 on me! My partner is from there, it can be spectacular!
Very many thanks John. I'm not far away from it and yes, it can be pretty spectacular.
What can I say ?? Stunning :0)
What a gorgeous scene you captured, what a light!
This is the best shot I've seen of this place! Period....
Thanks Pat, it's taken me over two years to get it.
Wow, that's outstanding. The best of it's kind I've ever seen I reckon.
So alive xx
Crikey, that's an amazing shot!
wow, that is breathtaking!
What a absolutely great photo, a brilliant use of the light and the motion of the water really adds life to the picture. This is one of those photos i could stare at for hours. Did you do any work on it afterwards ? ie any editing?
It was shot in RAW format so it had some curves work done on it to bring back the contrast, otherwise not much else was done to it.
