Or otherwise known as Maddies Rock, but not taken from her favourite side.
Taken what seems like ages ago now while staying in Dorset for a week.

Impressive composition making best use of the lovely light and enhanced by the inclusion of the silhouetted figure on top of the rock.

Kate, This is an exceptional shot. The light, the water movement, the sky, and the figure standing on the rock. What a cracking landscape this is.

Cracking shot Kate. How do you keep th detail in the rock while using a grad? I always seem to end up with anything that breaks the horizon being to dark!!

Phil.

Thank you Ian and Phil.
@ Phil in this instance I used the Cokin full ND grad (I think it is 121F).

A great shot with excellent light and colours.
Including the person the rock certainly adds to the image.

the addition of the person adds a nice but clever little touch. gives the image scale & adds to the interest. you are helped here by the position of the sun in relation to the rock outcrop. it all makes for a smashing view.

Thank you.
Yes the chappy was a bit of a bonus he was up there posing for his girlfriend so I took advantage of it hoping he would stand still long enough for me to take the shot.

Nice with the figure standing on it, giving some scale to the picture

Peter

I always wondered exactly how big this rock is. Perfect timing on the other elements as well.

Blinding light, pack it up in a bag and take it to your next destination.
The guy on the rock really does make the image, very well seen.
