Taken last night towards sunset and just before a torrential splashdown. Fortunately I packed up before the torrential rain arrived, but unfortunately I missed the spectacular rainbow that followed the rain Sad

This field is full of Phacelia, from a distance it can be mistaken for lavender or flowering thistles, but it is in fact used as an eco friendly soil enhancer, it puts back nutrients into soil and is being increasingly used as a "green" manure. The bees love it - I have never seen so many bees in a field of flowers.

As always Thanks for Looking.
Thanks to Pete for the HC on my previous image.

An interesting image - so many different lines and textures.
An informative description, too!

This is a really great image.. excellent composition, great colours and textures, a super capture indeed. I'm intrigued by the splashes of yellow were they rape seed?

Thanks everyone. Pleasantly surprised at how this has been received . Usually avoid pylons - but thought the juxtaposition of pretty flowers and somewhat ugly pylons worked.
Further thanks to Ron for his UA - very much appreciated.

What a sight! Gorgeous light and composition, Chant and those flowers are really something else, aren't they?? Wow. So funny 'cos I would've been shoving my lens right in there for close-ups...lol Grin
