A monastery in Mandalay where the monks line up (in their hundreds) to receive their meal for the day, the food being donated by locals.
A big thank you for your comments on 'Rising Damp' and to Darryl, Sanjeev, Zoe and Helen for their UAs, very much appreciated.

Love the expression of the main monk in the image. Personally, I would tone down the light areas in the BG
Lovely colours - and excellent focus on the one monk

Quote: Another superb photo, Dave!
The focussing on the one monk adds much to the whole atmosphere og the picture.

if I can add good use of shadow and light
Super, moving photo journalism, the individual in the crowd.
Moira
One face in a crowd - beautifully isolated. A superb shot with great light.

fantastic, wonder how you did the radial movement!
I like the shadow the focal point giving this originality and telling a story which is important to a picture. So you are using one of the benchmarks in art Original - Technically Correct - Impact..........
Well done. WesternRed.
I guess it's all been said but having just one face in focus in a crowd is a very skillful technique and hard to achieve. The uniformity of colours keep the comp beautifully simple and means nothing to distract the eye. There seems to be a radial blur effect centred on his right eye and strengthening towards the frame edges. It enhances the movement and contrasts the stillness of his gaze. Lovely ![]()
Excellent example of selective focusing. Very powerful image.

I am so sorry I missed this a couple of days ago Dave because I would most definitely have added my UA to the veritable avalanche that this stunning image has been given.
