Went over to Exmoor today, the weather wasn't very kind, Dunster Castle was closed and wrapped in plastic, Oare Church was covered in scaffolding and the parapet on Robber's Bridge has been knocked off by a big vehicle trying to cross. Clearly not my best day, so here's a shot from happier times last winter. Have a good weekend everyone...

Wonderful line created by the trees, and I love their starkness against that beautiful blue sky.

Beautiful shot Dave, it has a great lead in with the line of trees & plenty of interest in the distance.

A brilliant image David. I like the line of the trees and the way the smaller branches break up the rich blue sky, which are balanced well by the branches of the tree on the right. Love it.

A sorry tale of woe Dave, but fear not for you are not alone. I took a drive out yesterday intent on photographing local National Trust properties only for my car to breakdown in the middle of nowhere. Got home 4 hours later sans-car and sans-piccies. In fact I'll be sans-car till the middle of next week.

Anyway, this is a fine pic. Good lead-in, good colour and austere in a beautiful "England in the Winter" sort of a way.

Dave.

Thanks Dave and Chris for the positive feedback on this one, most grateful.

Dave

the leave are already off the trees? Anyway, I do like the strong line and the way that this is arranged.

Patrick

I see the trees are bare with you Dave, we still have a lot of greenery but the low temperatures last night will aid the transformation...your light shadow and colour all blend beautifully.
Doug.

Many thanks for the comments on this one Patrick and Doug, but it is a shot from last winter, not this, hence the lack of leaves.
