Running across the top of the Quantock Hills in Somerset, there are a number of ancient trackways. I love to visit these and spend time trying to sort my head out in the peace and quiet.

A couple of days ago, on the first sunny day we've had for ages, I decided to go for a walk up here again. Hope you like what I saw.

Thanks for all the support on the Rural Life shot, and thanks for looking in...

Such lovely shapes in this making it look like there is movement in the overall image, great tones and wonderful processing. This looks a great place to go for some special quiet time to gather thoughts.

Thanks Terry, the light was quite bright on the day, but the trees broke it up well and created some interesting shadows.

Thanks Linda, there's not really been that much to do in processing terms, a slight shift in the levels and adding the frame and title, otherwise it's straight from the raw file.

Thanks to those who clicked their approval too... Dave

I've spent some time walking those hills, a wonderful place to catch up with your thoughts Dave. The image is lovely, I like how you've composed it. The curve of the tree trunk draws your eye down and then back round through the picture, quite clever Smile

Thank you Neil and Sarah, for your kind comments. The phrase 'trying to see the wood..' fits quite well here Sarah. There's so much to see, choosing your spot is the test, so I'm glad you liked it... Dave

A splendid woodland scene - your composition with the curving tree trunk is excellent together with the repeated curve of the other trees.
