This photograph was taken by lake Coniston with my wifes 'take once and throw away'
camera as I'd forgotten mine. Around 5:30a.m. the sun was starting to burn off the mist.
Lost the negative so had to retake it from a print, hence the moderate quality.
Hope you like it though, and thanks for looking. P.S. I did poke it around with Photoshop6
and this is the best I could make it.

I thought the 'moderate quality' was the result of hours of skilful editing! A tremendous image exuding atmosphere and 'feelgood'.

Superb shot. It has a very painterly quality. Almost looks like you got the watercolours out.

The only thing I can't understand is what appears to be digital noise, underneath the boats on the left hand side. Since you have this lovely, soft focus effect anyway, you could apply some noise reduction without it being noticed, I think.

Just goes to show, it's not the gear, but the person behind it that makes the shot.

What an excellent result - I think the difficult birth of this image really helps to add to the atmosphere - feels like it is far away and long ago somehow. The image appears a little noisy (esp m/g) for sure some further soft focus may help - but I really like the overall effect.

A beautiful shot - I don't know if it's as a consequence of everything the image has been through but it has some great character to it IMO.
