A Fourth from the Pickering weekend In the Company of Alleycatz & Wooly now after Friday Mr and Mrs Woolhouse
Ive up-loaded both versions BW and colour would be great to hear your thoughts
Thanks as always for comments clicks and helpful feedback and my previous efforts always appreciated
Lots o painting to do today so will catch up latter
Wonderful character study here Brian. Mono for me.
This chap seems lost in thought, his eyes staring out into the distance and pondering I don't know what.
The B and W version seems to be more in character with the subject matter, but I do like the colour too.
A hard choice really, so 1/2 vote per version.
I was there, few days later.
Missed it, d*mn! LOL
splendid portrait study.....V1 has the appeal of timelessness with excellent monochrome & contrast...Congratz. on the HC award.
Love both shots Brian but the Mono always edges in front for me.
I love the expression and detail but would prefer not to see the riffle nozzle above his head dress.
Get's my vote though Brian.
A fine capture Brian congrats on the HC
Both superb images Brian
Superb portrait ... Carol
Colour for me Brian...well done.
Brilliant. Love both, but mono I think authenticates it
Great portrait, both work well, but I am more inclined to the mono, the details and textures appear even better.
Wonderful portrait and character study. He really does look lost in his own thoughts. Mono version definitely has the most impact for me - (just to upset the apple cart, have you tried a sepia tone?)
A super capture - and I think the mono version for me. Congrats on the HC - very well deserved.
Very good portrait.
A cracking candid portrait, Brian, suits both colour and mono. I think the colour just wins it for me
A cracker Brian especially with that wonderful smoke drifting up to the darkest part of the picture where it is most noticeable. Congratulations on your HC.
Congratulations for your HC Brian, love the expression you've captured, that far a way look, the smoke is brill!
Has to be the mono for me
Well done Brian..
Works well in mono
A lovely portrait Brian. The mono version portrays that 1940s era
Excellent Brian Finding it difficult to choose but I think my fave is the mono this time..........
The smoke from the pipe is great against that blackboard!
Congrats on your award!
One of your best imho Bri
Congrats on the HC
P.S Def V1
A well deserved HC. I think the mono works best, it suits the period. Love all that smoke.
A super portrait Brian - love the smoke and the lighting. Personally I prefer the black and white
Very nice Brian - think I prefer the mono
Brilliant image and detail, mono for me
very atmospheric Brian these war images are top notch.
It's the mono for me too, it makes the photograph appear more authentic
Like it V1.
I really rate this, but would be tempted to lose the gun barrel from the top of his head.
