This quote is one of several by Robert Owen dotted about New Lanark Mills - a world heritage site in South Lanarkshire.
Bit of history....back in the 1800's he created a "working man's utopia" and gave many employment...but he was a unique employer at the time and provided nurseries for children, educational facilities, decent housing - all the stuff we take for granted now.
