While on holiday Paddy took me down to Devon to see this lovely man. He grows such unusual plants. I bought about 5 plants & he gave me a most wonderful Hellebore that he himself has grown, almost black . More later . Next Spring I hope it will grow for me. We went & had a cup of tea with him & his wife . A fount of Knowledge .

I took his portrait in colour then turned it to mono & then used a Sepia tint . Hope you like it . xx

Now I have added the colour version

Thank you all for looking. Jennnnnn. Can hardly remember what I bought though they were all so special . Paddy bought me about 7 for my Birthday that she had sent for . Then I bought some from other nurseries and Paddy dug up a lot for me . She rolled them in damp Newspaper put in plastic bags and then put in a large bag of strong plastic that blew up a bit & was sandwiched in my case between my clothes . they all survived. I mostly like small Alpine plants .

What a fine portrait...I like them both, but the color just tips it by a hair.

Don't know about growing plants, Mavis, but that's a wonderful beard he's grown! Wink Works very well in sepia, and think between the two, this gets my vote Smile
