A few days ago Jennnnnnn uploaded some rural Pennsylvania mailboxes, and I said I would upload mine so here they are.
You can tell that they are no where near as picturesque as her very neat row. That's because I live in an area where most people only live in the summer, and on many different "fire roads". These are all sort of posted in one place on the corner for convenience of the mail lady. There is something very casual about living in a place where most of the "houses" are cabins.

We just have a row of metal tin boxes as our mail box delivery station, Joline, very dull and boring, nothing like the variety we can see here Smile Carol

Interesting image Joline.

In the UK must houses have letterboxes in the front doors and nothing as interesting as these.

Fascinating to read about and see this line-up. I imagine the red flags are there to indicate whether mail has been delivered. An unusual telephoto shot, much appreciated for the insight it offers.

Each one seems to have a very strong character. I suspect that this reflects the owners...

These facinate me Joline - something we don't have in the UK - well not in England, can't speak for the Highlands of Scotland where there are some remote dwellings. This lot make for a colourful show.

I've never seen anything like this and I love it SmileSmile Makes a lot of sense with regards to the mail lady.

Lovely sun in this and so beautifully shot, Joline. I love these slices of life from different parts of the world.

I wonder if each mailbox reflects the personality of it's owner? In our neighborhood most of the boxes are encased in a stone structure - each using the type of stonework used in the house. We don't have separate boxes for the newspapers though.

I think somewhere I actually have an image of a row of mailboxes. They make for a fine example of perspective also.

Something else we don't have in this country. Generally we have a slit in our doors with the mail man pops the letter through.

We had boring metal boxes in Australia, but could add a sticker saying No Junk Mail which was good as most was too big for it anyway - now had they been like your captivating row of colourful mail boxes Joline, you wouldn't have even minded the junk mail - ours had a lever to show when you had mail though ... What a row of different mail boxes!
I suppose it helps Mail delivery person to distinguish between the families
but the lack of uniformity does jar the eye.

our mail box is only 100 steps from the front door, the hamlet sports mainly dull ones.
