Ah! XX280, An old favourite around the airshow circuit.....Smile

A top flight trainer to, This particular plane spent some time as a Red Arrow.....Before the black paint job.....Grin

Not the sort of thing you'd send to Libya though......Sad

This looks very flat and grey Ian.
I've uploaded a mod in which I've increased the exposure very slightly and increased the offset a touch.
I've managed to claw back some detail in the underside and the difference in contrast helps lift it.
I didn't go so far as to add it but you could do with a bit more space in front of and probably above or below the aircraft.
I've a feling that most of these problems were caused by your having to shoot against that miserable sky and there's not much you can do about that!
Sorry to be so negative. Just trying to help.

Bren.

Hi again Ian,

I've uploaded another mod. with a replacement sky from the archives. You'll notice I've lost the aircraft's canopy in the process. I could have preserved it had I taken more time over it but you'll get the idea.
Hope this helps.

Bren.

Very good shot showing just how good that Canon lens is fully open. Its pin sharp, and my mod has no sharpening applied, - something rare.

The light appeared to have been quite bad, so the contrast is a tad low, easily fixed with a curves or leveles adjustment to make black = black. I would also suggest creating a little more space around it so it flying into empty space as Ive done in the mod, - you simply add canvas and paint in the background colour, and Ive also given it a slightly more aggressive up tilt.

Great shot, hope this helps,

regards

Willie

yep thanks guys that's very helpful and both mods look great. i have to say the background sky is something i done recently with the daffodil image on my portfolio so why i didn't think of that i don't know lol.

This is exactly why the critic part of this upload is so good, thank you very much guys your input is very much appreciated.

Ian

If you want more info, it is a Hawk T1, from 100 sqn, usually based at Leeming. So there.
