Due to the appalling weather here this week I haven't been out for any new land/seascape images, this set was taken from my bedroom balcony window, when we had a few brief spells of sunshine in between the torrential rain. The colours of the sky in V.1 interested me, where it was rich and blue above the rainbow, yet so much paler beneath it. These images were taken as the day progressed, with V.4 being late afternoon.

Howdy neighbour. Lovely double rainbow. Hadn't noticed the lighter blue underneath until you mentioned it. Unusual to get a sequence of rainbows through the day. Well composed captures.

Four great rainbow shots. rainbows almost always have this two colour sky effect. I could ask my husband why and he'd give a long, scientific reason, but frankly I prefer the magic!
Good series of shots. The day definitely seemed to deteriorate.

not worth going out if it so cold the twin rainbows certainly brighten things up like the composition of 4 the best expecting snow today so they say grrr

great work Carol but for me it has to be v4 for the drama in the whole shot
like V2 for the detail in the foreground but a great rainbow captured and good set

Capturing/ recording rainbow umbra & penumbra is no joke, tried this a lot during film era. But all were hopeless as labs forcefully used weak chemicals,but blamed my abilities.
A great refreshing set .

oh, what a beauty the double one in the first image is really special. And no 3 is such a perfect composition with the small white house in the b/g.
