Last night I was joined by Mand (Amandabroughton) and Chris (Pretorian) and we took the long walk to the end of Llanddwyn Island for sunset after a hearty tea in the Anglesey Arms. When we came out of the pub it was raining.. did it put us off?? When we walked along the forest track toward the island, the skies were black.. turn around? No...we three determined nuts continued and were blessed with some wonderful light and even a rainbow - Bingo!
Thanks for a great evening Mand and Chris
see you both on Sunday in the Clachaig! x

It's a stunning location isn't it, Jeanie! Great capture and fabulous light. The walk along the beach seems to take forever. I had difficulty in the pitch black when I returned after sunset, in remembering where I'd actually joined the beach ![]()
Alun
fession! Pete replied but it was mid rainbow so the phone got shoved back in my pocket and then, of course, I forgot to mention it or reply. So, sorry Pete, sorry Jeanie.
The walk to the island whether through the wood or along the beach is testing for sure and the way back even more so. Doing it twice in the same day is either lunacy or dedication depending on your point of view. Jeanie I hink you just invented a new word "Lunacation".
What a great gift from Mother Nature at the end of the walk, or is it the end of the rainbow? Marvelous drama and and a great sky. Hope Sunday brings good things for you in Glencoe.
Dougie
Thanks Alun, Ron, Ollie, Henrique, Les and Dougie. ![]()
Alun last time I was there I was walking back with Chris (Miles), Pete (Goggz) and somebody else we'd met on the island (who turns out is on EPZ!) and without Pete I would not have found the way back to the car park from the beach either. This time we were clever and just walked back along the forest track... can't miss the car park that way - I do know somebody who got herself lost on there and told me she used google maps on her phone to find her way back
.
Mand - no need to apologise - given the circs I would have done exactly the same hahah! x
Lunacation - I like that Dougie!! - must remember that from now on, LOL! ![]()
Jeanie
Great scene Jeanie, dramatic rocks and the bonus rainbow, well captured,
Adrian
